For the first time in Central Asia Tashkent will host the Web Summit Spotlight Technology Forum on September 27, which is co-hosted by the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the press service of IT Park Uzbekistan said.

Web Summit holds the world's largest technology events, bringing together startups, executives of international corporations, investors, and researchers. The Web Summit forum in Lisbon annually attracts over 70,000 participants. Summits are also held in other regions: Web Summit Rio in South America, Web Summit Vancouver in North America, RISE in Asia, and Web Summit Qatar in the Middle East.

"The arrival of Spotlight in Tashkent expands the ecosystem's geography... Central Asia will gain direct access to global networking, capital, and knowledge for the first time," the event's press release stated.

The event program will focus on Uzbekistan's potential as an innovation hub, opportunities for international corporations in emerging markets, venture capital investment prospects, and key global IT trends.

Speakers expected to attend include Alfredo Gomez Soria, Director of Corporate Affairs at Plug and Play Tech Center; Katrin Calledo, Head of Ecosystem Success at StartupBlink; and representatives from venture capital firms GB Ventures, DOMiNO Ventures, Rasmal Ventures, Heartfelt Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, and others.

In addition to panel discussions and keynotes, participants will have the opportunity to hold one-on-one meetings with venture capital firms in the Investors' Room.
