The Competition Committee urged retailers not to raise prices for food items ahead of the New Year celebrations Tuesday.
To ensure price stability for socially important goods during the period of increased demand leading up to the New Year holidays, the Competition Committee sent notices to retailers.
These notices require promptly notifying the Committee of any possible price changes by suppliers, as well as any increases in logistics costs. Retailers have been given directive to warn suppliers not to raise prices on unjustified grounds.
