A toddler born in 2023 has tragically passed away after falling into a body of water in the Samarkand province, the Provincial Department of Preschool and School Education announced.
The incident occurred on June 5, 2026, at the Yulduzcha private kindergarten located in Sarbazor neighborhood of Payariq district. Three-year-old R.M. lost his life after falling into a water reservoir built on the kindergarten grounds for emergency use.
"The district prosecutor's office is currently conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the matter," the department stated.
The education department expressed its deep condolences to the family and loved ones of the young boy.
This tragedy follows a recent incident in the Kashkadarya province, where another three-year-old child died after being left forgotten inside a car at a kindergarten. A criminal case has been launched regarding that incident, and investigations are ongoing.
