Authorities in Sirdaryo province are investigating a woman who allegedly assaulted her daughter's classmate following a dispute between the two minors, the Children's Ombudsman's office reported, adding that it is monitoring the case.
According to officials, the incident stemmed from an argument between two students, both born in 2013 and identified by their initials as A.Z. and Z.A., during a lesson at a public school in the province on September 7.
The following day, A.Z.'s mother, identified as S.Sh., pulled the minor Z.A. out of class to discuss the dispute — bypassing school administrators and violating standard procedure, according to the report. The conversation reportedly escalated, and the woman scratched the girl's neck, using physical force against her.
The Boyovut district police department has opened a pre-investigation inquiry into the incident. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the extent of the injury to the child.
The Children's Ombudsman's office said it would continue monitoring the case to ensure the minor's rights and legal interests are protected.
