Draft presidential Improving the efficiency of tourism reforms decree, posted for public input until December 24, proposes as of July 1, 2020, to abolish the registration of foreign nationals and stateless persons who will be staying for a duration of no longer than 30 days.

Starting July 1, it is proposed to introduce a unified tourist tax registration system, which provides for the simplification of its payment, including through e-payment apps and international payment systems. Control over the stay of foreigners in Uzbekistan and their departure will be carried out through checking whether the tourist tax was paid.

All checkpoints will have to have buraue de change and must accept tourist tax payments.

The project proposes to revise the tariffs for local and foreign airlines with the provision of equal (non-discriminatory) tariffs with respect to the use of aviation infrastructure and to prevention surcharges.

By April, it is planned to develop a draft amendment to the Air Code, providing for the establishment of mechanisms to optimize the cost of air travel by using non-refundable and baggage-free fares.

Until January 1, 2023, it is proposed that domestic and foreign legal entities be exempted from customs duties (except for customs clearance fees) when importing jet fuel and lubricants, as well as raw materials for production of jet fuel and lubricants.
