Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov today met with his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldaev in Bishkek, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

The counterparts reportedly discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, the progress of realization of the agreements reached following the summit meetings and talks in December 2016 in Samarkand and in June 2017 in Astana.

The two ministers highly commended the outcomes of the meetings of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission on cooperation and the Intergovernmental commission for delimitation and demarcation of state boundary held in Bishkek on that day, chaired by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

The counterparts agreed to actively advance mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, which are getting new dynamics and to deepen cooperation in the fields of transport, agriculture and water resources, energy, culture, healthcare, education, science and tourism.

The foreign ministers exchanged views on the date and agenda of the upcoming high-level visit.

Abdulaziz Kamilov handed over official invitation to Erlan Abdyldaev to take part in Security and Sustainable Development in Central Asia conference under the auspices of the UN to be hosted by Samarkand in November this year.
