The government issued a resolution approving Procedure for biometric and face ID verification of individuals in public places by officers of the patrol and post service of the police authorities Regulation.

The Regulation has outlined the procedure for identifying individuals in public places by officers of the patrol and post service of the police bodies using electronic technical means, including tablets.

Officers may stop individuals and identify them using ID documents or the E-patrol system in the following cases:

- when there are grounds to suspect that a person has committed a crime or an administrative offense or is on wanted list;

- when a person can be deemed to have information about a committed crime or administrative offense;

- when there are other legal grounds for detaining a person in accordance with laws.

Police officers must explain to person reasons and grounds for stopping him and requiring him to identify himself.

The officer of the patrol post service shall be in charge of correct entry of personal data of individuals into the E-patrul system through a tablet.

They are responsible for not disclosing personal information in the E-patrol system to third parties and not using this information for malicious purposes.
