Starting August 20, a specialized survey aircraft operated by Avion will conduct scheduled flight inspections of air navigation systems over Tashkent's airports, Transport Ministry press service announced, citing the Uzaeronavigatsiya air navigation authority.
Residents were told not to be alarmed, with officials describing the flights as a routine inspection process. The checks will continue for several days, during which the aircraft may pass over the same areas multiple times at low altitude, around 1,000 meters.
In April, Uzaeronavigatsiya announced the launch of Avion, an airline dedicated to inspecting and calibrating airport radio equipment and lighting systems, as well as carrying out other specialized aviation tasks. For this work, the company acquired a Diamond DA62 MPP aircraft equipped with high-precision instruments to assess whether air navigation systems meet international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Previously, Uzbekistan relied on a similar aircraft brought in from Kazakhstan to carry out these inspections. With its own operator now in place, the country can conduct core inspection work using domestic resources alone.
