A driver who filmed a traffic police officer and posted the footage online has been sentenced to seven days in prison in the Chiroqchi district of Kashkadarya province, according to the provincial Traffic Safety Department.
Reports indicate that traffic police inspectors stopped the driver on October 5 during an enforcement sweep near the Chiroqchi farmers' market, where an administrative violation report was filed against him. During the encounter, the driver recorded his conversation with the officer and uploaded the video to his Instagram page.
The Chiroqchi District Criminal Court reviewed the citizen's actions. The driver was found guilty under Article 195-2 of the Administrative Responsibility Code, which penalizes photographing or filming law enforcement officers with the intent to discredit them. Consequently, he was handed a seven-day administrative prison sentence.
The driver expressed regret for his actions. The Qashqadaryo Province Traffic Safety Department urged citizens who disagree with the conduct of traffic patrol inspectors on any matter to submit their grievances through legal channels.
Previously, on September 24, another citizen in Qashqadaryo was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest for distributing a video aimed at discrediting a traffic police officer.
