Security officers at the Tashkent Metro have returned $10,000 in lost cash to its owner, a citizen of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Interior Ministry said.

The man had been on his way to buy a car at the Sergeli car market. He said he rode the metro to Almazar station, and a bundle of banknotes fell out of his bag without his noticing. He realized the money was missing only after he reached the market.

A police officer found the cash. The officer and his colleagues then identified the man from surveillance cameras and invited him to the metro.

The man thanked the officers for their honesty and prompt work, the press service said.
