The death toll from a Russian missile strike on Pryluky in Chernihiv Oblast has risen to 16, including four children, and 55 people have been injured.
"Sixteen people have been killed, including four children. Fifty-five people have been injured, including seven children."
Details: Fifteen apartment blocks and 16 houses were damaged. The exact number of damaged buildings is still being established. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Earlier, the State Emergency Service reported 14 deaths and 50 injuries. A total of 15 people, including a child, have also been rescued. State Emergency Service psychologists have provided assistance to 36 people.
The bodies of those killed, including children, have been recovered from under the rubble of the apartment building. Search and rescue operations are currently underway to find people trapped under the rubble.
Nina Lutsenko, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service in Chernihiv Oblast, said three people, including a child, had been rescued.
Five children aged three, five, eight and nine, as well as a police officer, are among those injured.
Background: On the morning of 7 October, Russian forces attacked Pryluky with missiles, hitting a multi-storey residential building. Police initially reported four deaths and 20 injuries.
