Uzbekistan is chairing the CIS in 2020. In late May, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CPS) of the CIS countries was held. The next meeting is scheduled for November 6 in Uzbekistan.

In addition, under the chairmanship of Tashkent, meetings of the Economic Council, the Council of Foreign Ministers, and the Coordinating Council on the sanitary protection of territories of the Commonwealth countries have already taken place.

Earlier, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported that during the presidency of Uzbekistan in the CIS, it is planned to prepare and adopt more than ten conceptual documents aimed at advancing multilateral cooperation. About 70 events of various levels and formats were scheduled for the year.
