On December 31, 2023, the zero excise tax rate on imported and local AI-80 gasoline and its retail sales ended. From January 1, at UNG Petro gas stations, a liter of AI-80 again costs 6,800 soums; at private gas stations, the price reaches 8,800 soums.

Phased implementation of state health insurance mechanisms in Tashkent city

Gradual implementation of state health insurance mechanisms in medical facilities in Tashkent is to start on January 1, 2024.

School principals will undergo professional certification every 5 years

From January 1, 2024, a system for training principals and issuing management certificates to them will be introduced at the National Research Institute for Professional Development and Teacher Training in New Methodologies named after Abdullah Avloni.

Schools will be required to obtain a management certificate every five years for existing principals. A director who has a certificate is exempt from taking advanced training courses for three years.

Launch of Penalty Area information system

From January 1, legal entities providing storage services for vehicles detained by authorized bodies for violating the law shall be selected on the basis of an open competition through the Unified Automated Information System of the Road Safety Service.

Extension of zero duty on food products

The presidential decree extended until January 1, 2025 the zero import rate on items given in Appendix No. 1 to the presidential decree of May 31, 2022 and the decree of March 23, 2023. 

These are food by-products of cattle, fish, milk, cream, butter, eggs, bananas, citrus fruits, fruits, onions and some vegetables, coffee, tea, vegetable oils, flour, cereals, flour and pasta, water, hair products , children's clothing and others.
