The EUROUZ HR & Capacity Building Committee held its expert seminar “Well-being at Work: Practical Strategies for Uzbekistan’s Changing Business Landscape” at Swissôtel Tashkent, gathering over 70 both online and in-person including HR leaders, business executives, and industry practitioners.

The event brought together leading corporates, EUROUZ members, and consulting companies to explore how employee well-being can drive productivity, retention, and organizational performance in an economy undergoing rapid modernization.

As Uzbekistan integrates deeper into global markets, companies are increasingly recognizing that talent, not only capital, is becoming the key factor of competitiveness. Across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, finance, and FMCG, organizations are shifting from traditional HR practices toward holistic well-being strategies that empower teams, strengthen corporate culture, and support long-term growth.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Atabek Alimdjanov, EUROUZ Deputy Secretary General, who emphasized the Committee’s mission to raise professional standards in HR management and promote people-centered development across the business landscape. Venera Erzina, Chair of the HR & Capacity Building Committee and HRD at Ipoteka-bank OTP Group, highlighted the growing strategic importance of employee well-being, positioning it as a pillar of sustainable corporate development in Uzbekistan.

A keynote speech was delivered by Patryk Zamorski, Executive Leadership Coach, Faculty & Leadership Facilitator at THNK – School of Leadership, who presented a global perspective on workforce well-being as both a leadership responsibility and a strategic enabler. He outlined why modern organizations must invest in psychological safety, workplace culture, and leadership mindset to stay resilient amid economic and technological change.

The seminar continued with a dynamic panel discussion bringing together leading experts and practitioners.

Daria Fedorova, CEO of Empatia, shared insights on building organizational resilience through mental well-being programs.

Maria Churkina, CEO of Attech Global, discussed HR transformation and the future of work, highlighting the growing role of analytics, automation, and digital HR tools.

Komila Khasanova, Cluster Senior HR Business Partner at BAT, spoke about building a people-first corporate culture and its impact on retention.

Olga Pak, HR Director at Acwa Power, presented practical approaches to supporting well-being within large-scale energy megaprojects.

Ilkhom Abiev, Head of Marketing at Akfa Group, addressed the role of employer branding and engagement-driven communication in strengthening well-being.

Abdullokh Abdukodirov, Head of Employee Experience at Ipoteka-bank OTP Group, discussed practical frameworks for building meaningful employee journeys.

The panel was moderated by Venera Erzina, who guided the conversation toward practical tools and solutions that companies can adapt immediately. Further contributions from experts underscored that well-being is no longer an isolated HR initiative but a critical part of business strategy. The speakers emphasized the importance of aligning well-being with performance management, leadership development, and organizational culture to ensure measurable and sustainable outcomes.

The event concluded with a closing discussion led by Venera Erzina and Atabek Alimdjanov, who stressed EUROUZ’s commitment to fostering a high-quality professional community within Uzbekistan’s HR ecosystem. Participants then continued networking over coffee, exchanging practical experiences and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.
