A bill passed by the Legislative Chamber proposes introducing administrative liability for foreigners and stateless individuals who work in Uzbekistan without a valid work permit.

The planned amendments will be integrated into the Administrative Liability Code. Under the new rules, penalties will apply not only to those working without proper work permit but also to individuals who engage in industries or job roles outside the scope specified in their permits.

The authors of the bill link this initiative to the rising influx of foreign nationals entering the republic, a trend driven by recent measures to simplify visa regimes, streamline residency registration, and introduce incentives for the tourism sector.

The authority to review and process these legal violations will be granted to the State Labor Inspectorate, law enforcement agencies, and the criminal courts.
