Temperatures across Uzbekistan are set for a gradual rise this coming weekend, according to the national weather service, Uzhydromet.
On Friday, daytime highs nationwide will hover between +34°C and +37°C. However, intense heat will build over Saturday and Sunday, driving temperatures up to +37°C to +40°C. Extreme highs of +41°C to +42°C are anticipated in northern areas, southern territories, and desert zones.
The country will see partly cloudy skies with no forecast rainfall, except in isolated mountainous areas where brief thundershowers are possible. Authorities have also warned of potential flash floods and mudflows in the foothills and mountain districts of the Tashkent province and the Fergana Valley.
Additionally, strong winds reaching 13 to 18 meters per second could trigger localized dust storms across northern and desert areas on August 8 and 9.
In the capital city of Tashkent, dry conditions will persist. Friday's peak temperature will reach +36°C before climbing to between +37°C and +39°C over the weekend. Overnight lows in the city will remain comfortable, ranging from +21°C to +24°C, accompanied by light easterly winds of 3 to 8 meters per second.
