Residents of five districts in Tashkent have complained to Veolia Energy Tashkent about the quality of their hot water, the company’s press service said.
According to the company, water for these districts is supplied to the network by an external provider, Tashkent Thermal Power Plant JSC. Veolia Energy Tashkent delivers and distributes heat and hot water up to the basements of residential buildings.
After the complaints, specialists from the company’s accredited laboratory visited the sites and took samples from water sources and apartments. The samples will undergo chemical, bacteriological and organoleptic analysis. Results will be published once testing is complete.
The company also passed its findings on the water quality in the network to Tashkent Thermal Power Plant JSC so it can take urgent steps to bring the process within standards and flush the main networks.
Veolia Energy Tashkent said the situation is under constant monitoring and that it is working with the supplier to restore water quality to standard as soon as possible.
The company apologized to residents for the inconvenience.
It was reported earlier that unjustified utility payments collected from residents in Uzbekistan had been refunded.
