On November 11, 2019 Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Pekka Haavisto in Brussels, the ministry said.

The counterparts reportedly discussed the agenda of the 15th session of the Uzbek-EU Cooperation Council, while also focusing on the ways to advance the Uzbek-Finnish relations.

The two ministers reiterated their willingness to expand cooperation in such areas as inter-parliamentary relations, trade-economic cooperation, science, culture, education and support the strengthening of the legal framework.

It was noted that resuming the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, opening of a Uzbekistan’s trading house in Helsinki and other joint projects could be a practical form of achieving these goals.

The ministers also exchanged views on some international issues.
