India is interested in helping Uzbekistan to build its nuclear infrastructure, Uzatom agency said in a statement. The delegation of Uzatom, during a visit to Delhi, held talks with the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of the Government of India, Sri Vyas, on launching cooperation in the use of peaceful atom.

The officials of the Indian Atomic Energy Commission and Uzatom delegation discussed the possibility of joint personnel training and provision of consulting services by the Indian side on the design and construction of nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan, the statement added.

The visit program includes visits to the Nuclear Energy Corporation of India and the Kudankulam nuclear plant, where new power blocks are being built by the Russian Rosatom.
