The water outflow from the Sardoba reservoir has been stopped. The flood in Sardoba was not observed in other parts of the province, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The government commission is taking a number of measures to tackle the consequences of the flood and create conditions for the evacuated.

The situation is under full control. We declare that there is no reason to panic," the ministry added.

The water flow from the dam was directed into Abay canal in Akaltin district, which falls into Arnasay Lake in Jizzakh province.

As reported earlier water flow started to come from Sardoba reservoir dam early in the morning due to whether a burst or spillover, which is not yet disclosed, from the dam’s sixth picket wall, which prompted the evacuation of nearly 12,000 people from several settlements in vicinity of the dam.
