On May 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the presidential press service said.

The counterparts reportedly discussed the ways to further strengthen bilateral friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership ties.

The parties commended close cooperation of the governments of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and supported the measures taken in the two countries aimed at minimizing the negative consequences of the pandemic, for the trade and economic ties.

The heads of state conversation reached agreements to continue active joint work aimed at maintaining high upward trend of trade in goods, expanding cooperation in various sectors, and advancing investment and infrastructure projects.
