The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and China Abdulaziz Kamilov and Wang Yi held telephone conversations, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The two ministers reportedly noted the importance of further strengthening the Uzbek-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership ties and discussed the schedule and agenda of upcoming events at the highest levels.

An agreement was reached on holding, as the epidemiological situation improves, the next round of inter-MFA political consultations and meetings of the relevant subcommittees of the Uzbek-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.

The parties also agreed to actively use the new formats of meetings to discuss relevant aspects of bilateral cooperation under lockdown restrictions.

The Foreign Ministers also separately reviewed mechanisms to facilitate the launch of the peace negotiations in Afghanistan and exchanged views on interaction within the UN, SCO and other international structures.
