President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Pakistan on February 5-6, his press service announced. Talks are scheduled in Islamabad with the Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces and Commander-in-Chief of the Army Field, Marshal Asim Munir.
The first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council is also scheduled during the trip.
The parties are expected to hold talks aimed at deepening the bilateral ties, strengthening political dialogue, and intergovernmental, interparliamentary, business, and interprovincial ties.
"The parties will also focus on increasing two-way trade, promoting cooperation projects in industry, transport and infrastructure, tourism, and continuing cultural and humanitarian cooperation," the statement reads.
the talks are scheduled to culminated in signing of a joint declaration and a package of accords.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also attend a joint business forum.
