A driver who slapped a scooter rider following a traffic accident in Tashkent’s Uchtepa district is facing legal action. Administrative charges have been filed, and the case documents have been forwarded to the court.

The incident reportedly took place on the night of July 19 at the Vatan intersection. According to preliminary data, the collision involved a BYD sedan and a scooter operating under the Yandex delivery service.

The driver admitted to slapping the scooter rider in a fit of rage. According to his account, he was turning at the intersection on a green light when the scooter ran a red light and struck the rear of his car.

The citizen explained that he lost his temper and slapped the rider because the car belonged to someone else. "I apologize to both the young man on the scooter and the public," he stated.

Authorities confirmed that the incident has been documented under the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility and sent to the district court for a final legal ruling.

This incident follows a separate case in May 2026 in the Tashkent district, where individuals posted a video online showing them insulting a delivery courier. That incident was later exposed as a staged prank for social media clout. Law enforcement officers charged those individuals under Article 189-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility and referred their case to court as well.
