On July 28–29, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport, Ilkhom Makhkamov, and Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Talantbek Soltobayev, visited key construction sites along the Kyrgyz section of the upcoming China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway to inspect the progress of the project.
According to the Kabar news agency, the ministers reviewed the ongoing construction of tunnels, bridges, and other critical infrastructure installations. Their discussions focused on accelerating work schedules and outlining the next phases of development.
The two officials also exchanged views on implementing strict quality control measures to ensure the mega-project is completed safely and on schedule.
The agency emphasized that the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project is of vital strategic importance. Once operational, it will significantly boost regional connectivity, expand trade transit capacities, and establish a major new international transport corridor linking Asia and Europe.
