Natural gas production in Uzbekistan totaled 18.3 billion cubic meters in January–June 2026, down 16.4 percent from 21.9 billion cubic meters over the same period in 2025, the State Statistics Committee said in a report.
Oil production also declined in the first half of the year, falling 3.1 percent to 313,800 tons. Gas condensate output dropped 19.7 percent, to 462,100 tons.
Coal production for January–June totaled 2.5 million tons, down 16.7 percent from 3.0 million tons in the same period last year.
Fuel output, however, is on the rise: diesel production grew 2.1 percent, reaching 568,000 tons, while gasoline output rose 6 percent, to 614,200 tons.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had earlier sacked Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov over the ministry's failure to ensure uninterrupted electricity and gas supplies to the population, particularly during the summer and winter seasons.
