Tashkent's Center for Traffic Organization is conducting a study on how schoolchildren travel to school and whether there is demand for a school bus system, the agency announced.

Parents can complete the survey through the Telegram bot @school_coddbot. The questionnaire asks for the child's home address, school, and grade level, along with departure time, mode of transportation currently used, and whether the family would need a school bus. A separate form must be filled out for each child.

The question of launching school bus service comes up regularly in Uzbekistan. Last summer, the Road Safety Department of the Interior Ministry said such a project would be difficult to implement, noting that many parents choose schools based on the quality of education or other factors rather than proximity to home.

In 2024, authorities launched a pilot program offering free bus service for schoolchildren in remote areas of the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya provinces.
