Uzbekistan will introduce a fee for over 10-ton capacity trucks and trailers from Jan 1., 2024. This follows from the 2024 state budget, which was passed by the parliament and signed by the president.

Taking into account the damage to the national and local roads by trucks, it was initially planned to introduce a fixed annual fee of 5 basic calculated values (1.7 million soums) (BCV=340 thousand soums) for over 10-ton capacity trucks and trailers.

During discussions in the Legislative Chamber, the MP Mukhtorzhon Khodzhimatov indicated that trucks that transport 15 and 60 tons will pay the same amount.

“We understand that the introduction of this fee will not cover the damage caused to the road infrastructure,” he underscored, pointing out that the Accounts Chamber had proposed to differentiate rates depending on truck load capacity.

As a result, this proposal was taken into account. The fee for trucks and trailers with a carrying capacity of 10 to 25 tons will be 5 BCV (1.7 million soums), from 25 to 35 tons - 8 BCV (2.72 million soums), from 35 tons and above - 10 BCV (3.4 million soums).

The funds will go to the Highway development trust fund.
