The Zangiata District Criminal Court of the Tashkent province has issued a verdict in the case of the murder of 18-year-old resident of Keles, Askar Gulmatov, the Millar TV program reported in a story.

The incident occurred on February 12 at approximately 22:50 on the playground between houses 16-17-22 in Ozodlik makhalla of Keles, the administrative center of the Tashkent province.

The Prosecutor General's Office said that the suspect, 17-year-old A. S., being drunk, quarreled with his acquaintance Askar Gulmatov and stabbed him several times with a kitchen knife.

While, the relatives claimed that the deceased was beaten in the evening by a group of teenagers, and then one of the attackers ran home, took a kitchen knife and stabbed Askar. They stated that the attacker hit him in the stomach several times, and then struck him seven more times in the back.

She also voiced doubt that the accused acted alone and called for the investigation to be continued.

Accroding to the TV channel's report, the defendant participated in the hearing online due to health reasons. The prosecution's lawyer stressed that, according to witnesses, the stabs were inflicted with particular cruelty - the deceased's internal organs were opened.

The court found the defendant guilty under the Premeditated murder of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 8 years' imprisonment in a general colony. the Part 1 of the article provides for a 10 to 15 years of imprisonment. However, according to Article 85 of the Criminal Code, persons who committed crimes between the ages of 16 and 18 shall be sentenced to imprisonment for up to 7 years for a serious crime and up to 10 years for an especially serious crime.
