The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a government meeting familiarized himself with the presentation of measures to provide Tashkent with stable energy resources and prepare for the autumn-winter period Friday.

During the meeting, the shortcomings identified in the summer were analyzed, lessons were learned, and tasks were defined taking into account the expected economic growth next year, an increase in construction volumes, and an increase in the standard of living in the capital, the Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov told the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

The President has outlined defined specific directives and areas for the full guaranteed provision of the growing demand for electricity, for the stable supply of energy to the population and sectors of the economy, the minister stressed.

He emphasized that those in charge have already been directives to determine the mechanism of work, provide additional funds, and also complete the tasks in the shortest possible time while maintaining quality.

The goal has been set to fully digitalize the industry, conduct certification of workers, especially those who directly interact with citizens and entrepreneurs, improve their literacy and establish responsibility, said Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov.

According to him, the goals have been set - starting from the issuance of technical specifications - to implement digitalization, create a digital city platform, ensure transparency, establish a prosecutor's supervision mechanism and take measures to prevent corruption.

The minister stressed that an analysis of the results of work over the past two years had shown that if measures are taken from top to bottom - from high-voltage networks to low-voltage lines at the neighborhoods level, the accident rate and the likelihood of their occurrence will increase.

Taking this into account, all work has been determined for each district of Tashkent: volume, types of work, responsible persons. In total, about 1.8 trillion soums (about $143 million) are planned to be allocated for high-voltage networks, substations, construction of new facilities, laying lines, replacing transformers and upgrading equipment at all high-voltage substations in the red category in 14 districts of the city, he said.

Special attention is paid to accelerating the construction of battery energy storage systems in Tashkent city and the Tashkent province, as well as the implementation of similar projects by large consumers.

In addition, the president instructed to prepare regulations providing for the use of modern technologies and increased responsibility in the energy sector, as well as to make appropriate changes to the legislation.

Directives have been given jointly with all relevant ministries, departments and the Oliy Majlis to promptly make these changes, Mirzamakhmudov added.

The Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov reported that the President ordered the implementation of all activities in 2025-2026 on construction, repair, laying of networks, construction of new substations, as well as repair of substations operating under high load.

He approved our proposals. As for the cost of these proposals, it surpasses $200 million. The sources of financing for this project were also determined by the head of state. At today's meeting, the entire range of issues was covered - from the foundation to the completion of construction - and it was established that the work will be carried out according to plan, based on the general plan, the mayor said.

According to him, the work will not be carried out at the expense of the Tashkent budget. The President himself determined the sources of financing, which allows us to start work on Monday, he said.

The capital's mayor indicated that today, first of all, it is planned to solve short-term problems at 13 stations.
