The Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov hosted French Ambassador Aurelia Bouchez, who is ending her posting to Uzbekistan.

“Uzbek-French bilateral ties over the recent years have shown unprecedented dynamics, our countries have achieved historic milestones, and nations have become strategic partners.

“We greatly appreciate Madam Ambassador’s constant contribution to expanding the horizons of our ties and wish her all the success in new endeavor”, he concluded.

Aurelia Bouchez has been in charge of the French diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan since 2021.

During President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Paris in March 2025, Uzbekistan and France upgraded the bilateral relations to the strategic partnership level. The countries declared their intention to develop cooperation in politics, security, defense industry, trade, energy, transport, culture, education and tourism, as well as in the areas of healthcare, agriculture, high technology and protection of cultural heritage.

France also vowed to facilitate Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO. The parties agreed to develop legal migration of skilled Uzbeks, exchange information in the fight against crime, joint measures to combat terrorism, disinformation and illegal trafficking of cultural property.

Meanwhile, the state enterprise Navoiuran and the French company Orano signed an agreement on the industrial development of the South Dzhengeldy uranium deposit. At the first stage, the expected investment will stand at $214 million.
