The parties discussed the ways to further advance the Uzbek-Pakistani multifaceted cooperation and the strategic partnership ties in the backdrop of the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Uzbekistan in February.
They commended the stepped-up contacts and exchanges at various levels. Year-to-date, the bilateral trade has risen by 23 percent, cargo transportation - by 50 percent. Trading houses have been opened in the cities of Karachi and Lahore. The frequency of direct flights has increased.
The sides also considered cooperation in the military and military-technical areas, as well as in the field of countering modern challenges and security threats.
They also focused on the swift implementation of the provisions of the signed tripartite agreement for the Trans-Afghan Railway project.
